We had a quiet Christmas this year. Allison is 8 months pregnant and therefore beyond the point where she can travel, so a holiday trip to Houston was out of the question for us. This year, we went to a great candlelight service at our church on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning was really special with just our little family, but we had Christmas dinner with our neighbors and their families, half of which were strangers to us. Everyone was very nice and the food was great. But, as we spent the afternoon chasing Jackson around a house that we had never been in before, I wished that we could have shared that experience with our loved ones. I thought it might be nice to forego the hustle and bustle, but in reality, that is a small price to pay for being with your family on Christmas.
